Vision

The Department of Sculpture explores and questions image making in conventional 3 dimensions to inculcate the context of time and space in its reimagining. It further envisions being alive in the temporality of the history of visual art and contributing to broader cultural and knowledge production.

Mission

Our mission is to:

  • To instill criticality within its structure that must reflect through students while pursuing their practice. The department aims at exploring and inculcating indigenous literature and practices, as well as local artisans’ crafts as explorations and investigations into the contemporary sculptural practices.

Key Goals

  • Build a foundational understanding of contemporary art vocabulary.

  • Emphasise critical thinking and methodological practice.

  • Encourage research-based material engagement beyond traditional sculpture.

  • Implement peer and cross-faculty critiques.

  • Integrate theoretical frameworks to strengthen students' practice.
