Bachelor of Performing Arts - Santoor Sufiyana
The BPA in Sufiyana Santoor is a four-year undergraduate programme designed to foster musical innovation and technical mastery in the Santoor with a focus on Kashmiri Suffiyana. The course offers a balanced integration of theoretical knowledge and intensive practical training, shaping versatile artists prepared to meet contemporary musical, commercial, religious, and spiritual challenges.
The programme emphasis to preserving and revitalizing Kashmir’s rich musical heritage through the study and practice of Sufiyana Musiqi—an intricate and deeply rooted classical tradition. With a focus on both tradition and innovation, the department nurtures a new generation of musicians by offering professional training in Sufiyana music. Alongside the Sufiyana Santoor, students are immersed in the full range of instruments and styles that define this unique art form, positioning it within the broader dialogue of global musical traditions.
