About Us

Institute of Music & Fine Arts was established in the year 1965 under the auspices of J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages to provide opportunities to talented youth of the valley to develop their faculties to become Painters, Sculptors, Graphic Designers and Musicians under a five year Degree Course in each discipline. After showing commendable progress the Institute was affiliated to Kashmir University in 1974, and regular courses leading to the degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Music, under Kashmir University, were started in 1975.
